From the Principal’s Desk: October 31, 2013

Last Saturday was a smashing success! As a community, we helped the Dominicans of Tacoma, who founded our school, celebrate their 125th Anniversary. It all began with a wonderful Mass at 1:00 and a fantastic reception followed in the Lanigan Gym. The Archbishop was our main celebrant at the mass with many priests from the Archdiocese assisting him. Our Pastor, Father Madigan, was happy to welcome everyone to the service and invite them over for the reception. The sisters were very happy with the entire day, and we were all honored to host them and be a part of the celebrations. They expressed great joy with all the children’s artwork on the nuns. Many of the staff helped with everything, but special thanks goes out to Margaret Whetham.

This year, our Grandparents lunch will take place on January 29th. It will be a little bit different than it has been in the past. To avoid the overcrowded situation the grandchildren will not be eating with the Grandparents. They will be called down to get their Grandparents and take them on a tour after they have been entertained and served. There will be a light solicitation at this “free lunch” which people can respond to then, or later. The donations will be part of this year’s Annual Fund. If you want your grandparents to receive an invitation, please go to this page to complete the form.

Giving Update

Thus far, 264 pledges have been made to this year’s Annual Fund for a total of $121,037 in pledges. Of that, $52,413 has been paid. Thirty six of those pledges were made by Holy Rosary Staff totaling $14,098. In addition to the Annual Fund, we have had 19 pledges made to the Centennial Drive for a total of $241,350. The payments of the Centennial total $4,800. Slowly but surely progress is being made. A big thanks to all who have made their commitments. Please remember if you are making payments thru the accounts you have with the parish you have to actively go in and make sure your bank releases those funds.

Have a great Halloween. Be safe and be good. See you in Church on Friday!!!!!
