November is Here!

We are into November. It is a very short month in terms of school days. We are off on Monday for Veterans Day, and then there is the Thanksgiving Break. Before you know it, we will all be buying our Christmas Trees. Time does not just fly, it disappears with the blink of an eye. So it really is important to enjoy each moment and make the most out of it. It is important to live with joyful hearts and spread peace and good will. As Saint Francis put it: “Make me a channel of your peace; where there is injury bring pardon; where there is despair bring hope; and let us seek more to understand than to be understood; and let us seek to console rather than be consoled; for it is in giving that we receive. It is in pardoning that we are pardoned….”

So, while we are doing our work, whether it be helping our children do theirs, running to soccer practice or music lessons, bringing eighth graders to their high school visits, or rushing off to a meeting, we can hopefully find time to find ourselves and our relationship with our God. It is in finding that is within and in celebrating what we discover in ourselves, that is the greatest gift we have for our children.

A Big Thanks

Our solicitations continue to go well. We have had 269 families respond to the Annual Fund. I am proud to say that 36 of those are from the school staff! The pledges total $126,767, of which $55,512 have been paid. For the Centennial Campaign, we now have $242,550 pledged and of that, $4,800 have been paid. Fourteen people have pledged to the Parish stewardship campaign for 2014 with a total of $20,800. We will be publishing in December the names of those who have pledged thus far to the Annual Fund and/or the Centennial Campaign. We will not be stating giving categories.

Please remember that when you make a pledge that is to be paid in a certain month, you must go on line and activate it to make it happen. There seems to be some confusion on this.

A Question

A few parents have told me they do not see a need to mail out the monthly newsletter that I write. I am just wondering if that is a majority feeling. They think that I should just include it with one of the weekly e mailings like this. If you have any thoughts on that please let me or a Parents Club Officer or a School Commission member know.
